Greek Marinated Chicken — marinade, based on yogurt, lemon juice and aromatic herbs, transforms the traditional chicken legs into a delicious dish of Mediterranean cuisine. By the way, the whole leg can be replaced by any other chicken «parts». An ideal dish for a family dinner or for a weekend lunch!
Greek Marinated Chicken Recipe
Greek yogurt — 1 Cup
Chicken — 2 kg
Lemon — 1 PC.
Olive oil — 2 tbsp
Oregano dried — ½ tbsp.
Ground black pepper — to taste
Fresh parsley — ¼ bunch
Salt — ½ tsp
Garlic — 2 cloves
1. Combine the yogurt, olive oil, crushed garlic, oregano, salt and black pepper. Add lemon zest (grate it on a fine grater) and juice of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons).
2. Mix thoroughly, then add the chopped parsley. The marinade is ready.
3. Place chicken with marinade in a large bag and close it, leaving it in the air. Massage the bag to mix well and marinade the meat, and send it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
4. Marinated chicken can be fried in a pan or on the grill, and bake in the oven. For the latter option, preheat the oven to 190 °C, place the chicken in a baking pan or casserole and send in the oven for 45-60 minutes or until the chicken becomes Golden brown.
